When it comes to ISV marketing, we always stress the importance of thought leadership. A blog is the perfect place for you to position your organization as a thought leader and expert within your business and technology focus area.
But more often than not, we see company blogs that are flooded with sales pitches and product features. Of course your company blog is a great place to keep customers and prospects updated on your products, successes, and company announcements. But you can communicate more and your blog is a great place to start.
What makes some blogs stand out? If you look at some of most popular blogs in the Dynamics space (especially those from Microsoft MVPs), you’ll notice that they focus on Dynamics trends and topics beyond their own companies. They are consultative and opinionated, and this is why they have such strong followings. They are also topical, following the latest news and happenings and adding their perspective. They very rarely mention specific ISV solutions and if they do, it’s for a good reason.
Your prospects want, and need, to be educated and informed. They want perspective. Your blog is a great place to show off the expertise that makes you a thought leader on the things that matter to you, your customers, and your prospects.
What topics have you blogged about recently that have sparked conversations with customers or prospects?
